George Ryder’s workshop was in Reading, Massachusetts, contemporary with the great Boston organ companies of Hook & Hastings, Hutchings, and Stevens. Ernest Skinner worked for Ryder as a shop boy before moving to Hutchings to begin his storied career.
The organ in Beacon is a lovely example of his work, ready for restoration and a second life.
(The organ case on the right side of the sanctuary is a dummy.)
We look forward to hearing from you.
